創業当初、商品のデザインとレザーのオリジナル開発に素早く着手、立ち上げは順調でした。しかし、馬革の繊維密度が高いため、縫製に使用するミシンや縫製スキルも独特で、生産効率も高くないことから製品を製作できる縫製工場になかなか出会えず、一進一退を繰り返しておりました。
そんな中、ダブルヘリックスは世界一流ブランドの製品を製作している職人さんたちとの素晴らしい出会いがありました。そのご縁に恵まれ、ダブルヘリックス専用の生産ラインを持つことができ、現在、自社企画製品に特化した製造と品質管理を一貫して行うことができるようになったのです。そして、このアライアンスは日々進化し続けております。
革は作り方や用途によってピグメント、型押しなどの仕上げが数え切れないほどあります。異なるスタイルや味わいを楽しむことも一興かと思いますが、ダブルヘリックスでは最上級の原皮でしかできない仕上げで製品を作る軸を一層固めたいと考えて、材料面の基準を決めました。
革の品質は革製品ブランドの命取りになりますので、ダブルヘリックスでは革の仕入担当が仕入れのたびに現場まで足を運び、その場で空打ちの時間、プレスでの艶の手加減、調色などの工程を確認しています。あらゆる面で安定的かつ高品質な革を確保することに注力しているのです。
その結果、ダブルヘリックスの革を見れば、素人の方でも最高級の革の持ち味と仕上げの多様性に感動していただけるものになったと自負しております。
Our Story
Kaori Matsuda&Jay
In February 2017, Matsuda, who ran men’s bespoke, and Jay, a horsehide product lover, decided to launch their own luxury horse leather brand. After being founded, We quickly started designing products and developing original leather, and the launch was smooth.
However, because the high fiber density of horse leather, the sewing machine and sewing skills used for sewing are also unique, and the production efficiency is not high, so it is difficult to meet a sewing factory that can manufacture products, and it has been going up and down repeatedly.
Meanwhile, We had a wonderful encounter with craftsmen who make products of world-class brands . Blessed with that connection, we were able to have a production line dedicated to double helix, and now we are able to consistently carry out manufacturing and quality control specialized for our own planned products. And this alliance continues to evolve day by day.
