As a professional horsehide product brand, Double Helix always selects materials according to strict standards. We always select the raw hide of large Polish horses, with a thickness of 1.3mm-1.5mm. Through the improvement of traditional Japanese vegetable tanning, repeating tests on the tanning time, gloss, color and so on, we were able to achieve high-precision production management. To ensure that the leather maintains a stable and high level of quality in terms of luster, hand feel, three-dimensionality, color, smell, weight, etc., Double Helix spares no efforts in this regard. Double Helix’s horsehide is processed using environmentally-friendly solvents from the German company, Bayer. The solvents volatize and dissapear so there are no chemical residues left in the leather. Although Japan has its own requirements and standards for leather environmental protection, Double Helix’s horsehides go beyond that and pass even the world’s highest standard PFI benchmark testing. The safety of our products as they relate to human health and the environment are aspects that Double Helix attaches the highest importance to.
